Surgical Procedures

Cyst Removal
Cysts that are becoming tender, rapidly growing or obviously irritated and inflamed do require removal and in these instances it is usually covered by insurance. Because cysts grow deep under the skin, removal requires deep surgical excision with stitches, cutting through the skin to dissect out the entire cyst, including removal of the cyst lining.

Laser Treatments
If you have tiny wrinkles, acne scars and other minor skin imperfections, then laser resurfacing can help you. Board Certified Dermatologist, Babar K. Rao, MD, FAAD,can improve sun damaged and acne scarred skin which often cause concern to both men and women.

Mole Removal
Most moles are no threat to your health and need not be removed. Some, however, change over time and can lead to cancer. A mole usually is removed by shaving or cutting it from the skin. If it is large, you will need stitches. A small mole, or one that is shaved off, may require only a small bandage. Your surgeon, Babar K. Rao, MD, FAAD, may send a piece of the mole to the laboratory to check for cancer.

Rosacea Treatment
Board Certified Dermatologist, Babar K. Rao, MD, FAAD, often recommends a combination of treatments tailored to the individual patient. Together, these treatments can stop the progress of rosacea and sometimes reverse it.

Skin Cancer Treatment
The Skin and Cancer Center in Manhattan, New York and Fresno, California offers a comprehensive approach to melanoma detection (skin cancer), treatment and follow-up care.

Skintag Removal
Skin tags are little pieces of extra skin decorating the neck, under-ams and other areas of the skin of many of us. Board Certified Dermatologist, Babar K. Rao, can easily remove your skintags in his Manhattan, New York or Fresno, California office.

Spider Veins Treatment
Spider veins are those small, unsightly red, purple or blue blood vessels found along the surface of the legs, thighs and ankles. These veins are actually tiny and unsightly varicose veins which do not perform any circulatory function. These veins can be removed with both appearance and blood circulation benefit.

Tattoo Removal

Lasers remove tattoos by vaporizing the pigment colors with a high-intensity light beam. Black tattoo pigment absorbs all laser wavelengths, making it the easiest to treat. Other colors, such as green, selectively absorb laser light. These colors can only be treated by selected lasers based upon the pigment color.

Lasers have become the standard treatment for tattoo removal because they offer a "bloodless," low risk, highly effective alternative with minimal side effects. Each procedure is done on an outpatient basis during a single or series of visits.
