Spot Removal
Brown Spots, Red
Spots, and Freckle Removal
Would you like to remove sun and brown spots, or are
sun spots and age spots bothering you? Would like them removed?
We can
help.
This non invasive procedure is safe, effective and affordable with no
downtime!
The Laser Therapy Procedure
The procedure is quick and effective with minimal discomfort. Results are
seen immediately. The laser selectively destroys blood vessels without
causing damage to the surrounding tissue. If there are few blood vessels
to treat, they are traced with a hand-piece resembling a pencil. If there
are more widespread vessels a scanner may be used. This allows the
treatment of a larger area with one pulse of the laser. After the vessel
has been treated it appears red and may feel a little hot, similar to a
burn. Healing is fast.
Our lasers can treat a full range of pigmented lesions (from a few
isolated freckles or brown spots to larger café-au-lait spots). We offer
individual removal treatments, or for large areas like the entire face or
chest we have our Photo Laser Facial Treatments.
Brown Spots
Solar Lentigines
Solar Lentigines, or 'age spots' or 'liver spots' or 'brown spots' are
directly related to sun exposure and have nothing to do with either age or
the liver. These spots are easily treated . One treatment is usually
successful, although thicker lesions may need multiple treatments.
Red Spots
Cherry Angiomas
The most common red spots are called cherry angiomas, small red dots that
appear as you get older, beginning in your 20s or 30s. They are completely
harmless, and may be hereditary. They are often seen on the face, chest
and back, although they can appear anywhere. Usually, only one laser
treatment is necessary for permenant removal.
Broken Blood Vessels
Telangiectasias
Telangiectasias are broken blood vessels, commonly seen on the face,
specifically around the nose, on the cheeks, forehead and neck. These
broken blood vessels are caused by cumulative sun exposure, trauma (such
as squeezing pimples), heredity, or may be associated with rosacea. Laser
therapy will effectively and safely removes unwanted blood vessels on the
face, neck and body
Freckle Removal
Freckle removal is easily achieved with lasers. Before lasers, it was
difficult to remove freckles because the lesions are so small. But with
laser, the treatment can be pinpointed at even a very small spot. Other
methods used to remove freckles include laser resurfacing, Retin-A, and
chemical peels. Dr. Rao will analyze your skin and determine the best
treatment.
Hemangiomas and Port Wine Stains
Hemangiomas and Port Wine Stains usually occur at birth or in childhood.
Some hemangiomas will disappear with time, while others do not. Port Wine
Stains usually become thicker you gets older, so early treatment is
recommended. Both are easily cleared with multiple treatments.
