Botox
Botox® is now being used by Board
Certified Dermatologist whose headquarters is in Manhattan, New York, to improve
facial appearance by reducing horizontal creases in the forehead, frown
lines, and wrinkling. Botox® wrinkle removal is a 10-minute in-office
procedure with no downtime and patients can return to work immediately
after the injection.
While Botox® is a relatively simple procedure it does require experience
and expertise to ensure the best possible results with the least risk of
complications. Board Certified Dermatolotis, Babar K. Rao has many years
of experience with Botox®.
The overall effect of a Botox® injection is a relaxed, smooth appearance
for the treated facial area. The most commonly treated areas are the
forehead and around the eyes, although a Botox® injection can treat other
areas of the face and neck as well.
Botox® is the brand name of botulinum toxin type A that has been in use
since about 1990. Botox® is injected into a muscle that is contracting and
causing wrinkles or frown lines. Botox® weakens the nerve to the muscle
for about four to six months. Botox® works by reducing the strength of the
muscles that caused the wrinkles or frown lines in the first place. This
may reduce your frown lines or wrinkles without surgery.
BOTOX® is rapidly replacing collagen injections as the treatment of choice
for removing wrinkles. BOTOX® is a purified neurotoxin complex. When
injected in minute amounts, the toxin works to paralyze those muscles that
cause you to frown.
Areas between the eyebrows, in the forehead and crow's feet can be
successfully treated, causing improvement or disappearance of frown lines.
BOTOX® is not permanent and lasts between four to six months. Board
Certified Dermatologist, Babar K. Rao, MD, FAAD also uses BOTOX®
injections in conjunction with the Laser Peel procedure to further enhance
the results.
